Limousines come in all shapes and sizes. There are many factors that can help you decide which one best suits your needs. Take the number of people that need accommodated, the type of event you will be attending and of course, the look you're going for. Taking all circumstances into consideration can make your limousine experience unforgettable.
Here are the most common styles of limousines, along with the pros and cons of each.
Luxury Sedan - The sedan is perfect for point to point travel. Sedans are ideal for 1-3 passengers. These vehicles usually service airport transfers, corporate travel, transporting a bride and groom to their hotel after the reception, or just getting from point A to point B. They usually have adequate trunk space for luggage or belongings that you need transported with you. The sedan also comes into play if you only have 2 persons needing service for an outing. Maybe you want to take a special someone out on the town for the night and would like to partake in some of the festivities, no worries of driving involved. One thing to keep in mind when it comes to the sedan is privacy. Or lack there of. Sedans are not usually equipped with a privacy window. This means the chauffeur can hear and see all that goes on in the passenger area. The rate on a sedan is much cheaper than other vehicles for the obvious reason, it's size.
SUV - As with the sedan, the SUV is great for point to point travel along with events. They can seat 1-7 passenger if equipped with third row seating. Keep in mind, the third row seat will infringe on the storage space available in the cargo area. These can service everything a sedan can while accommodating more people. Whether you and a few friends are attending a tailgating event, you have clients flying in from out of town, or perhaps you just are headed out for a night on the town, the SUV provides a spacious, affordable ride. The SUV rates are slightly higher than those on a sedan due to the size and capacity of the vehicle.
Stretched Limousine - The stretched limo is good for all occasions. The most popular makes are the Lincoln Continental and Chrysler 300. Some coach builders have introduced the Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Camaro, Bentley and a few exotics. Top passenger capacity in these limousines is usually 10. Once you hit this tier in transportation service, you get pure luxury along with all the bells and whistles. These limos are equipped with televisions, fiber optic lighting, custom interior, bars and more. You will not go unnoticed pulling up to your event in a stretched limousine. They provide more than enough space for passengers, however, you are limited to the trunk space for storage of any kind. So, if you are planning on hitting up a local sporting event or concert to tailgate, what you would like to take along might not fit. Stretched Limousines are perfect for weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthdays, establishment hopping and any event that won't require storage of large items. The stretches are a bit more pricey than the sedan and SUV and usually require a minimum service time. Be prepared to spend around $125 per hour on these limousines.
Stretched SUV - The stretched SUV can be a Ford Excursion, Lincoln Navigator, Hummer, Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Tahoe and more. This limousine is very similar to the stretch sedan. The biggest difference is the passenger capacity. These limousines can hold well over 10 people, some with seating to accommodate up to 26 passengers. You can most definitely fit an entire bridal party in the stretched SUV. As well as all of your friends you invite to a bachelor/bachelorette party, sporting event, concert, or just a night on the town. The storage space in these limousines is very limited. There is usually a VIP section in place of where the cargo area is located in a SUV. Unless there is a hitch rack for coolers and gear, be prepared to give up seat space to these items. Keep this in mind if you are set on reserving one of these for your event. These vehicles have the best height clearance if you are planning a trip off smooth paved roads. Maybe you gather friends and family to go on a haunted hay ride, a wine tour, or an event that doesn't offer paved parking, this is the limousine for you. The rate on the stretched SUV is probably the priciest.
Party Bus - The party bus is by far one of my favorite limousines. These can hold in upwards of 30 or more passengers. Some party buses even come equipped with a restroom which can come in handy if you're tailgating. They also have storage in the rear for any gear you need to transport with you. Out of all the styles of limousines, the interior in these provides the most room in all aspects of passenger comfortibility. Being able to stand and move around can be quite helpful. Long trips are also a breeze in these vehicles. There isn't a service that this vehicle can't handle with extreme ease and accesibility. Rates on the party bus can fluctuate tremendously depending on many factors. The two main factors that determine the rate are size and features of the bus.
So, to sum it up, no matter what your occasion, there is a limousine built to fit your needs. Make sure to cover all aspects when reserving a limo with the company you choose.
